The road is clear.
In early December, the Wānaka-Mt Aspiring Road north of the Treble Cone access road near Glenfinnan Stream will close while Downer work to construct a retaining wall in the area.

About Mt Aspiring Road
This road from Wānaka to Raspberry Creek car park at the Mt Aspiring National Park. The road is 54km long and takes about an hour to drive. The last 30km is unsealed and the last 10km is a fine weather road only with a number of streams to cross.
4WD vehicles are recommended however if it has been dry then 2WD vehicles will comfortably make this journey. Transport services are available in Wānaka. See the Wānaka i-Site on the lake front for information.

The weather can change rapidly in this area so keep an eye on Weather conditions. You are also advised to let someone know where you are going and when you will return.
