Eleven-year-old George Tucker of Wānaka will be making his Italian debut this month when he races as part of Team NZ at the ROK Superfinal.
The race is an international world kartracing final, the culmination of more than 400 drivers from 35 nations winning their respective national championships to gain entry.
The young kartracer was selected to represent New Zealand in the Italian superfinal after placing second (NZ2) in this year’s national championships: the Vortex Mini Rok Class (10-13 years old).
George, who attends Te Kura o Tititea Mt Aspiring College (MAC), has been racing karts since 2020.
He had an impressive start to his karting career, winning the National NZ Sprint Championship in the Cadet class - giving him the title NZ1 at just nine-years-old.
