The earthquakes were all centered 10km south-east of HaastThree earthquakes struck near Haast this morning (Thursday March 6), with magnitudes ranging from 3.4 to 4.7.
According to GeoNet, the quakes occurred in the same location 10km south-east of Haast, beginning at 7.37am with a 4.6 magnitude quake, followed by a 4.7 magnitude tremor at 7.49am and a 3.4 magnitude quake at 7.58am.
Upper Clutha residents have reported feeling the tremors.
There have been no reports of damage.
GeoNet has classified the largest quake as ‘moderate’.
