The fourth edition of the OSM Challenge Wānaka Multi took place on Saturday (October 28) with its biggest ever field of more than 180 participants kayaking, biking and running a total of 82km in and around Lake Wānaka.
The weather turned on stunning blue skies and light winds, making almost perfect racing conditions.
The men’s field saw Hamish Elliott retain his title in a time of 3:59:47, despite having a quick swim in the river.
“For a moment I thought I was a triathlete and had a quick dip in the water,” he said.
