An underutilised bus park beside Paper Plus on Dunmore Street will be transformed into four 10-minute restricted car parks.

The change in use accommodates the relocation of Wanaka’s post office services from the former post office on Ardmore Street to Paper Plus, a council report said. 

The bus park is seldom used for bus parking, Wanaka Community board member Ed Taylor said. 

He believes the 10 minute parking spaces would be much better utilised, especially for people just wanting to pop in to the post office or pick something up from the centre of town.

The Wanaka Community Board recommended the change in use to the Queenstown Lakes District Council’s traffic and parking subcommittee, and last month it was adopted.
