The Rotary Club of Wānaka’s New Year Book Sale will take place over three days next week (January 4-6).

The annual book sale has traditionally attracted hundreds of people to the Lake Wānaka Centre in search of a great read at a bargain price. 

Rotary Club of Wānaka president Richard Wallace said the club has a stockpile of books which were collected earlier in the year.

“We have thousands of books which will be for sale next week,” Richard said.

The books have been categorised to make browsing easy and the majority of books are priced at two dollars. 

Some newer books and special interest books are a little more expensive.

“It’s a big job to categorise and price but well worth it when we see the response and the funds we can raise for the community,” Richard said.

This year the Rotary club has teamed up with the Upper Clutha Plunket to manage the book sale, and all proceeds raised will go to the organisation to help them support families and children in the district.

The book sale will take place at the Lake Wānaka Centre from Tuesday (January 4) to Thursday (January 6), open from 10am-4pm each day.
