Wastebusters is looking for volunteers for its last Repair Revolution event before winter, which is coming up on June 15.
The Repair Revolution events are all about giving well-loved items a second chance - people can bring along broken items to have them fixed or to receive advice on how they could be repaired.
Volunteers are crucial to these events and last year they helped fix more than 300 items.
Wastebusters is keen to hear from anyone with repair skills who can lend a hand for the upcoming event, whether they’re a fix-it pro or just keen to lend a hand.
Volunteers have helped fix a range of items at previous Repair Revolution events - from small electricals and bikes to camping gear, shoes, film, bags, clothing, toys, and even small furniture.
Wastebusters would especially like to hear from bike mechanics, electricians and someone who is skilled in replacing zips who are available for the next event.
For more information or to sign up as a volunteer, email [email protected] or click here.
The Repair Revolution event will take place on Sunday June 15, from 10am to 2pm, at the Wānaka Community Workshop and Fabricate (15 Gordon Road).
The Repair Revolution is part of Wastebusters’ Resourceful Communities project, supported by the Queenstown Lakes District Council Zero Waste District Programme.
