Locals are being encouraged to contribute their knowledge and expertise to a new survey and public forum sessions for the Shaping Our Future initiative.
Shaping Our Future is holding two facilitated public workshops in Wanaka next week to explore current and future community social, economic, cultural, and environmental needs.
The outcomes of the workshops will contribute to the decision-making by key community stakeholders, including Queenstown Lakes District Council, Otago Regional Council, Ngai Tahu, industry groups, and government agencies, as they plan for the future of our communities.
There is also a wellbeing survey circulating online here.
Shaping our Future (SOF) is an independent organisation dedicated to collaboratively creating a long term vision and roadmap for the future of the district by harnessing and applying local expertise to local issues.
“This is a real opportunity for members of our communities to get involved, have their views heard, and hear the views of others,” SOF board chair Vanessa van Uden said.
The Wanaka Shaping Our Future workshop sessions will be held at the Lake Wānaka Centre on Monday (March 8) from 1:00-2:30pm and from 5:30-7:00pm.
