The Wānaka food truck village on Brownston Street continues to expand.

The 3035m2 site, which has Bullock Creek running through it, was transformed into a food truck village in 2021.

It now has seven food trucks on-site, and landowners Casey and Neville Teat are expanding the area to make room for more patrons.

The pair are currently installing more slab paving on a previously unused portion of the site.

“I think it will make it look better,” Casey said.

It’s one of many projects that has helped make the food truck village a nice place to visit.

The site has been transformed into a lush, scenic food truck village from a mostly bare site over the past few years.

The site, once mostly empty, now has extensive planting, pergolas, dining areas, bathroom facilities and a stone bridge that crosses Bullock Creek.

Casey said the latest project will take “as long as it takes”.

He also has plans to restore a very old cottage at the rear or the site.

The new paving is adjacent to the interiors store The Workroom.

The store, formerly located further down Brownston Street, moved earlier this year.

As well as the food truck village on the south side of Brownston Street, there is a second series of food trucks on the north side of the road, with another five trucks serving a range of cuisines.
