Fair will showcase ‘joy of second hand shopping’Save the date - the Wastebusters Summer Fair is coming up on November 2.

Wastebusters is encouraging the mantra of shop-secondhand-first this summer by hosting a fair where locals and visitors can stock up on all their summer essentials.

The Wastebusters Summer Fair for 2024 will be held on Saturday November 2, with everything from designer clothing to outdoor essentials and tramping gear up for grabs.

Wastebusters reuse team leader Mathilde Fonteneau said preparations for the fair have begun.

“The team has been busy sorting through all the summer gear, and the quality is fantastic,” she said.

The fair will feature items from popular brands including Huffer, Tree of Life, Spell, Macpac, and Patagonia.

Adventure gear includes surfboards, wetsuits and lots more.

“Thanks to our community’s generosity, we’re able to offer an amazing array of gear, keeping these items in circulation and out of landfill,” Mathilde said.

Wastebusters also runs a winter fair at the start of the cold season to encourage second-hand shopping first.

Mathilde said the upcoming event was the perfect opportunity to find second-hand treasures for the coming season.

“The Summer Fair is all about bringing the community together to celebrate the joy of secondhand shopping,” Mathilde said.

“Whether you're preparing for a lake day, a mountain hike, or just looking to refresh your wardrobe, Wastebusters has you covered.

“Plus, the delicious kai and usual fun Wasties vibe make it a day not to miss.”

The Wastebusters Summer Fair will take place on November 2, with the fair running all day long, and Stoked Local will be on-site offering food for shoppers.

Gates will open at 9am.
