Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) and Three Lakes Cultural Trust (TLCT) are teaming up to deliver the district’s first ever Creative Spaces Project.
“This November, we are working to transform all kinds of spaces across the Queenstown Lakes District into sites of creative expression,” TLCT said.
The project will be “a district-wide public art exhibition that goes beyond gallery walls”.
TLCT, which supports and uplifts the arts, said it has invited local artists, performers and venue owners to “collaborate and bring creative energy into unexpected places”.
“This is about bringing spaces to life, offering visibility to artists, and contributing to a wider cultural story for our district,” TLCT said.
“It’s an opportunity to build new collaborations between artists, performers, venue owners, and creative thinkers - and to help shape something uniquely local.”
Artists will be matched with potential venues.
The project is a chance for venues to be showcased “in a whole new light”, TLCT said.
The organisation said artists and venues would confirm their partnerships by mid September, and on November 1, the Creative Spaces Project will “come to life”.
