Campbell Wright. PHOTO: Nordic FocusWānaka biathlete Campbell Wright, who now skis for Team USA, has won silver in the final World Cup race before the Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games in Czech Republic.
He came second by just nine seconds to top biathlete Eric Perrot (France).
The win is Campbell’s first World Cup medal and third silver medal (he won two at the 2025 World Championships).
“It was a great race,” he said after the race, US Biathlon reported.
"I enjoyed it a lot.”
The 15km mass-start second place will give Campbell “a ton of confidence, as well as boost the whole American team”, one biathlon commentator said.
“Feel the energy he brings to the entire sport,” he said.

The silver medal will take Campbell into the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games. The Olympic biathlon competition will begin on February 8.
