Due to a lack of snow, Cardrona Alpine Resort has delayed its opening day until next Friday, June 18.

Communications executive Jen Houltham said there isn’t “quite enough” snow on the ground yet, and warm temperatures have meant the skifield has been unable to make snow. 

However, Cardrona will open for sightseeing gondola rides, food and beverage and retail shopping this weekend (June 12-13) .

Jen said temperatures are looking much colder from early next week and the resort staff hope to get “a decent amount” of snowmaking done so they can open for skiing and snowboarding next Friday.

The Snow Farm is also scheduled to open next Friday (June 18), and Treble Cone is scheduled to open the following weekend, Saturday June 26.
