Wastebusters’ winter gear sale returnsThe ‘Winter Drop’ will take place next weekend.

A huge range of winter snow gear and clothing will be on offer at the Wastebusters ‘Winter Drop’ next weekend.

Wastebusters reuse team leader Mathilde Fonteneau said the event will feature everything from second hand snowboards and skis to boots, helmets, goggles, hats and warm winter clothes.

“We’re stoked with the quantity and quality of items available this year,” Mathilde said.

For the Winter Drop, now in its sixth year, stock is donated throughout the year and set aside until early late autumn.

“The real magic of this event lies in our community’s love of secondhand,” Mathilde said.

“It’s thanks to their epic donations that we’re able to offer an incredible array of gear, ensuring more resources are kept in circulation and everyone can hit the slopes in style.”

The drop includes gear for both adults and children and, with so much stock, the team will be restocking all weekend, Mathilde said.

Over the weekend the reuse shop will continue operating as usual, with regular stock available both inside the shop and in the front yard.

In the front yard there will also be a selection of skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, and adult ski jackets and pants, and extra winter clothing will be found inside the shop.

The Wānaka Project will be performing live and The Fox and Badger NZ will be serving up food for shoppers.

The Wastebusters Winter Drop will take place on Saturday (May 18) and Sunday (May 19), from 9am.

The main carpark will be closed and parking will be available outside the gates - car pooling is advised.
