Wānaka residents will have a much shorter trip to get to the nearest Warehouse when the local store opens in a couple of months’ time.
Warehouse Group chief store operations officer Ian Carter said both The Warehouse and Noel Leeming will open in Three Parks in October.
“At The Warehouse, we’ll be offering affordable everyday essentials, including pantry and grocery staples, plants from our garden centre, and our full Warehouse Stationery offering and Print and Copy centre,” Ian said.
“Our Noel Leeming store will be offering a wide range of tech, whiteware and appliances, and our dedicated tech solutions experts who can help customers with their tech and home installation needs.”

The big-box retailer and the technology and appliance store are under construction on a 5,100sqm site to the north of New World Three Parks on Sir Tim Wallis Drive.
The company has started hiring and Ian said 65 new staff members - most of them local to Wānaka - will be employed across the two stores.
The Warehouse, ‘where everyone gets a bargain’, as its old slogan goes, is best-known for its broad range of affordably priced goods.

There are more than 90 Warehouse stores across New Zealand but Wānaka residents have, until now, had a long drive to the nearest store in Frankton.
Ian said the company planned to support local organisations.
“Once we’re open, we’ll be offering sausage sizzles at The Warehouse as a way for local community groups to fundraise.”
