Wānaka-based travel broker Rebecca (Becs) Laker has been appointed the new business development manager for World Travellers Christchurch City and World Travellers Wānaka, effective from January 19, 2026.

Becs steps into the newly created role after building a successful travel business in Wānaka since joining World Travellers as a broker in 2022. She brings more than 13 years’ experience in the travel industry, alongside two decades in sales-based, customer-focused roles.

Her new position will see her providing practical support to World Travellers’ broker teams, who are spread from Northland to Otago, helping them grow their individual businesses. The role also includes recruiting new brokers to join the boutique travel company.

“Becs has demonstrated a level of professional business acumen that will lead our brokers to higher levels of success in their respective businesses going forward,” World Travellers managing director Larry Lumsden said. 

“We are delighted to welcome Becs into this strategic new role.”

Becs has worked across both corporate and retail travel, as well as travel recruitment, and is expected to play a key part in strengthening World Travellers’ South Island presence.
