Police have released the name of a tourist killed in a crash at the corner of Anderson Road and Plantation Road on July 6. He was 25-year-old Hiroto Shimura, a Japanese national.

Police said Hiroto was travelling down the wrong side of Plantation Road on his bike when he collided with a car which had been making a left-hand turn into Plantation Road from Anderson Road. He was not wearing a helmet and no charges will be laid because the driver of the car was not at fault.

Hiroto was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
