A two car crash near Wanaka this morning (December 11) resulted in two people being injured.
Emergency services were notified of the accident on SH6, between Morris Road and the Lake Hāwea-Albert Town Highway, at approximately 10:33am.
There was initially a report of a person being trapped, a police spokesperson told the Wanaka App.
One patient was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital by the Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter with moderate injuries, and a second patient with minor injuries was taken to the Wanaka Lakes Health Centre by ambulance, St John communications advisor Gerard Campbell said.
