Otago Community Trust (OCT) granted $747,956 in grants in its October funding round.
Local grants included $30,000 for the Alpine Community Development Trust (Community Link) and $10,000 for the Wānaka Rowing Club.
The Community Link funding would support its “crucial” food security programme, OCT said.
The OCT is a philanthropic organisation which provides grants to organisations, events and initiatives which are of benefit to the Otago community.
Each month it provides grants to worthy projects.
A range of other groups and initiatives around the region - covering youth development, historic preservation and food security - received significant support in the funding round.
A cornerstone grant of $200,000 was awarded to the Lawrence Chinese Camp Charitable Trust for stage one ground works of its historic restoration project.
The October funding round also placed significant emphasis on youth development, including Otago youth programmes, a school-based bike programme, and a Pacific festival in Dunedin.
Completing the October funding round, the Arts Capability partnership with Dunedin City Council distributed $34,789 across eight organisations, supporting various capability-building projects including website upgrades, workshops, and strategic planning initiatives.
