The opening of Treble Cone, scheduled for Saturday (June 24), has been delayed and will be reassessed early next week.
Cardrona-Treble Cone GM Laura Hedley said the team will be ready to welcome guests as soon as the temperature drops and some more snow falls.
“Treble Cone, being lower elevation at base, does need a bit more snow for opening so we’re eagerly refreshing that forecast,” she said.
“The team is as ready as our riders, so we’re playing an involuntary waiting game.”
The Treble Cone snow report at midday today (Thursday, June 22) showed there was 50cm snow depth at the base building and 120cm on the saddle.
Any guests who were planning to ski or snowboard at Treble Cone this weekend can have their pass converted to Cardrona by contacting Guest Services, Laura said.
Over at Cardrona, which opened last weekend, the learners’ slope and the McDougalls Chondola are open and running.
Nearly 6,000 people have visited Cardrona in the last week with “stunning days above the inversion”.
Laura said she would share an update on Treble Cone’s opening early next week.
