The recent cyclone in Hawkes Bay and events happening overseas have had an impact on how we get our food.
In this episode of The Outlet we talk to Julia Blackford from Wao. Wao has undertaken a survey across the Queenstown lakes district to understand the ability of our local community to prepare for, withstand and recover from a shock or a disruption in a way that ensures we get enough and sufficient food to feed ourselves.
Shock events are happening more and more and impacting our food supply chains.
Food resilience is about how we ensure that we can still get the food we need even if we are experiencing more and more of these shocks and disruptions.
