Ten patients were assessed and treated at the site of a hot air balloon crash near Wānaka this morning, Hato Hone St John says.
Two ambulances and two operations managers responded after being alerted to the crash, in Queensbury, at 8.32am.
All patients had “minor” injuries and no transportation was required, St John told the Wānaka App.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) representative told the Wānaka App it had also responded with crews from both Wānaka and Luggate.
When FENZ arrived “everyone was out of the balloon and in the care of the ambulance”.
The representative said the hot air balloon had had “a rough landing”.
