The speed limit on Ballantyne Road dropped yesterday (Friday May 8) following community requests during the Speed Limit Bylaw review last year, the Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has announced.
New signs have been erected and the following changes will be in place:
QLDC property and infrastructure general manager Peter Hansby reminded drivers to stay alert.
“Most of us haven’t been out driving on the roads much over the lockdown period. We’re urging drivers to please stay alert, make sure you’re checking speed limit signs and driving to the correct limit,” he said.
Another speed limit change expected to come into force later this month is the speed limit on Cemetery Road (Domain Road to Muir Road) being reduced to 80km/h.
