Snow Farm extends winter season Close to 30km of trails will remain open until the end of September.

A late burst of spring snow has allowed Snow Farm NZ to extend its winter season by two weeks into the school holidays.

The cross-country ski area in the Cardrona Valley has confirmed that 20-30 kilometres of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails have been able to remain open thanks to excellent late-season conditions.

The Snow Fun Zone and tubing hill is also open providing a wide range of activities for children and families.

“We’ve had some fantastic spring snowfall and great trail conditions, so we’re thrilled to be able to keep the trails open for longer,” Snow Farm NZ general manager Sam Lee said.

“It’s the perfect time for families to come up and experience the snow, especially during the school holidays.”

Family-friendly cross-country ski lessons are available for those new to the sport, making it easy for beginners of all ages to get started. The on-site café will also be open.

The Snow Farm offers cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and tubing.

Snow Farm NZ's winter season will now operate until September 28.
