Wastebusters is calling out for volunteers to join its Repair Revolution event next month.
Taking place on Sunday May 11 at the Wānaka Community Workshop and Fabricate, the event is all about giving well-loved items a second chance and keeping them out of landfill.
Volunteers are essential to making it all happen, event organiser Celine Van Der Eecken said.
Last year alone Repair Revolution volunteers fixed over 300 items, with skilled fixers working on everything from small electricals and bikes to camping gear, shoes, film, bags, clothing, toys, and even small furniture.
Celine said Wastebusters was now looking for volunteers for next month’s event.
"Our volunteer repairers are simply awesome,” she said. “It's a privilege to see their dedication to helping others, and there’s something special about watching them connect with people over a shared love of repair.”
“We have our dedicated regulars who return year after year, and we always welcome newcomers with open arms.
“It’s great to see new faces joining in, with the regular crew making them feel right at home."
She said anyone is welcome - whether they’re a seasoned professional or just looking to lend a hand.
The Repair Revolution will take place on Sunday May 11 from 10am-2pm.
