The Aspiring Rotary Club has organised a rare opportunity to walk through one of New Zealand’s biggest private vehicle museums, which is right here in Wānaka.
The Wheels at Wānaka Private Vehicle Museum houses more than 300 vintage tractors and Caterpillar earthmoving equipment, and numerous rare and collectable vintage and classic cars and trucks - some dating back to the very early 1900s.
The weekend events include a museum walk-through on both Saturday and Sunday (from 10am- 4pm), and a Saturday evening photography exhibition.
The collection is owned by Wānaka developer Allan Dippie, and he will attend on Saturday evening to speak about the collection and give a background to some of the vehicles on display.
The collection of rare vintage and classic vehicles is one of the country’s biggest private vehicle museums.
There will be refreshments, live music and speakers at the photography exhibition.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Aspiring Rotary and back into the local community.
The events are taking place on Labour Weekend (October 26-27) at the Wheels at Wānaka Private Vehicle Museum at 135 Ballantyne Road (Central Machine Hire) Wānaka.
Tickets for the museum walk through will be available at the door, and tickets for the Saturday night event are available here.
