A power outage is affecting more than 2000 customers from Albert Town to Makarora, Aurora Energy says.

The company said it has identified a fault that caused the outage and is currently repairing it.

The outage occurred at 5.14pm today (Monday June 30) and Aurora is estimating power will be progressively restored to homes before 10.30pm tonight.
