Post COVID19 - A blooming success! (Sponsored)Small groups enjoying the beautiful gardens in Wānaka

Born out of the COVID-19 lockdown, tourism business Beautiful Gardens of Wānaka is now fully on board with its first year of unlocked overseas visitors.

Each guided garden tour offers an eclectic mix of lovingly tended gardens with the essential ingredients of WOW, beauty, variety and a knowledgeable friendly guide. With daily departures, from 2 to 4 gardens per tour, this relaxing activity includes transport, refreshments and an informative narrative.

A great thing to do in Wanaka for small groups of visitors or locals alike, Beautiful Gardens of Wanaka tours are ideal for keen gardeners, new-to-town residents starting their garden, visiting relatives, club excursions, farmers or just people curious to look for hidden gems beyond the fence. They are also an appreciated memorable gift and we offer group discounts from 4 participants.

Hearing garden stories and how-to garden tips is inspiring and a great way to learn what grows in the Upper Clutha climate in a relaxing memorable half-day outing. “I enjoyed the variety of gardens we visited, I’ve learned something in each of them” said a client after a tour.

The immersion in gardens and nature brings joy to customers and the gardeners themselves. They are happy to share their work and artistic creations. For some gardeners, it is their third year in the scheme and they are refining their gardens to ensure each season offers something new and beautiful. They receive a contribution per visitor.

A social enterprise run sustainably, this inventive operation enriches the tourism attractions on offer in Wānaka. “We are putting into practice the 2030 Regenerative tourism strategy adopted by Lake Wanaka Tourism” says Florence Micoud, owner operator. In particular, she is facilitating Regenerative Wanaka FB group as a space for discussion for all aspects of regeneration.

Joining a tour now is the best time to enjoy blossoms and bulbs and it's perfect to inspire you to get your garden going.
