Police have confirmed that a person has died following a single-vehicle crash on SH6 near the Stalker Road roundabout, Lower Shotover.

Emergency services were called at 9.30am this morning (June 28) to attend the crash with injuries reported.

The road remains closed with diversions in place while the Serious Crash Unit examines the scene. 

Traffic travelling from Lake Hayes to Queenstown is not seriously impacted at this time, however, traffic travelling from Queenstown to Lake Hayes is diverted via Arthurs Point. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are underway.
