Work is underway on a new lift at Cardrona Alpine Resort, which is expected to improve wait times at other lifts in the main basin.

Construction of a new T-bar to service the terrain park is currently at the tower foundation preparation stage, Cardrona Treble Cone general manager Laura Hedley told the Wānaka App.

“The construction of this lift is on track, which means it will be ready for skiers and snowboarders by the start of Winter 2025,” she said.

Laura said skiers and snowboarders will be able to access the Big Bucks slopestyle course, Stag Lane, Lil' Bucks, the Gravity X course, and the Racecourse trail from the new T-bar.

“The carrying capacity is between 800-1200 people per hour, which we expect will have a positive impact on wait times at other lifts - especially Whitestar,” she said.
