Food for Love is giving locals the chance to get their artwork into kitchens across the Upper Clutha - and help raise money for a good cause at the same time.

The local charity, which provides free home-cooked meals for people going through a hard time, is running a community design competition for its fundraising tea towel, which closes on Monday (October 6).

Food for Love co-founder and operations manager Bex Sarginson said the charity wanted to tap into local creativity.

“We’ve had the same design for three years,” Bex said. “We wanted to try something different and get the community’s perspective on how they see Food for Love.”

“We’d really love as much community input as we can get.”

The competition is open to all: “Anybody, any age range, and the design is totally up to them.”

The winning designs will be printed on limited edition tea towels to be sold for Christmas and over the summer.

“It’s a fun way to help us raise money so we can keep delivering meals to those who need them,” Bex said.
