A Wanaka landscape designer has won two medals in the annual Landscapes of Distinction Awards.
Lakes Landscapes founder Chris Jones, a registered master landscaper, picked up a gold medal for horticulture and a silver medal for landscape design in the awards, which were held at Easter.
Both medals were for a residential project in Lowburn.
“It was nice to get noticed,” Chris told the Wanaka App. “You strive in the business to get recognised in the country as a top landscaping company.”
Chris has 15 years experience landscaping, and set up Lakes Landscapes about five and half years ago.
He said his approach is to listen to his clients, and “using my knowledge with their vision to make it all come together”.
This is the first time he has entered the awards, but he hopes to enter again in the future.
The Landscapes of Distinction Awards showcase the best in professional landscaping practices across both residential and commercial projects in landscape construction, design, horticulture, maintenance and revegetation.
The entries were judged on site by a panel of six judges.
