Wānaka’s newest dental practice, Bespoke Smiles Wānaka, is set to raise the bar in both range and quality of dental services in town.

Locals have been forced to travel to Queenstown and Cromwell to see specialists with growing waiting lists for advanced dental treatments such as teen braces, complex Invisalign, implants and wisdom teeth.

This is set to change with Dr Hess Kim and Dr Julianna Tsao bringing decades worth of experience in orthodontic braces, cosmetic and advanced dentistry to their new state-of-the-art practice in Three Parks. 

Having worked in both Wānaka and Queenstown before, Dr Hess said he knows what the area desperately needed.

“I’ve heard first-hand the hassle it is for locals having to travel so far out of town for treatment such as teen braces, or a 3D x-ray for implants or wisdom teeth. So we’re excited to apply our advanced skill set and are the only dental practice in Wānaka to have invested in both a 3D CT x-ray unit and same-day crown technology.”

“We also know that many in our community are scared to go to the dentist due to costs and dental anxiety. We’re genuinely trying to change that. We give quality alternative treatment options that cost less and can also arrange payment plans,” he said.

“Our team pride themselves on really taking the time to ease our patient’s fears and dental anxiety. Plus, we have TVs on the ceiling and noise cancelling headphones for the best dental experience ever.”

Dr Julianna said she is keen to help elevate the dental health of local kids.

“We’re proud to be the only dentist in town offering a discount for kids' dental care because we want Wānaka’s children to grow up with New Zealand’s best teeth. Toddlers to teens need regular comprehensive checks and preventative care from specially trained dentists. This ensures the best management of dental decay and growth issues, such as crowding and overbites.”
