A person who became trapped under a vehicle in central Wānaka this morning is likely to have serious injuries, NZ Police say.
The incident took place on Roche Street, near Pembroke Park, at around 10.45am.
“A person was trapped underneath the vehicle which our crew worked to extricate,” a Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) spokesperson told the Wānaka App.
A Wānaka App reporter at the scene around the time of the incident said the Otago Southland Rescue Helicopter airlifted an individual to hospital from Pembroke Park.
FENZ was unable to confirm if this was the same incident.
NZ Police said initial indications suggested there are “serious injuries”.
Roche Street was closed following the incident but it has since reopened.
Several Police vehicles remain at a Roche Street address.
