Wastebusters’ third Resourceful Communities survey will help the organisation identify the barriers that prevent locals from reducing, refusing, and reusing.
The survey is open for the month of June and anyone who completes it will go in the draw for a range of spot prizes.
“The information will really help us target activities for maximum waste reduction impact,” Wastebusters project manager Sophie Ward said.
The last two Resourceful Communities surveys have helped Wastebusters glean valuable insights into the community’s behaviours and concerns.
“Among the things we learned was that people in our region are deeply concerned about waste and the impact it has on our environment, but this concern is not always reflected in their shopping behaviours,” Sophie said.
“We noticed changes in behaviour between the 2019 and 2021 surveys and now it has been two years we are curious to see if habits and trends have changed.”
The 2023 survey is open now on the Wastebusters website.
It asks about a range of behaviours and takes around 10-15 minutes to complete.
Everyone who completes the survey before June 30 can go in the draw to win prizes including a Cardrona day pass, a Queenstown Bike Park pass and a Revology goodie bag.
Wastebusters will release a report on the survey results in July.
The Resourceful Communities survey is funded by the Queenstown Lakes District Council Zero Waste District Programme and Wastebusters.
