The countdown is on for the Holy Family Catholic School’s ‘Impressions Behind the Gate’ house tour.
The highly anticipated biennial Wanaka house tour features a range of stunning homes owned by locals who will open their doors to the public on Saturday (November 6).
The number of homes remains a secret but there’ll be a variety of properties ranging from large houses with impressive gardens to a small house designed by Condon Scott Architects.
“This event should be lots of fun so get a group together and make a day of it,” teacher and organiser Phillipa Wilson said.
At each of the houses, local shops like Mrs Robinson, Gifted, Next Chapter and 63B will be setting up stalls with gifts, books and homewares available for purchase.
There will be something for everyone and a good opportunity to start thinking about Christmas, Philippa said.
The house tour is another major Friends of the School (FOTS) fundraiser for Holy Family Catholic School, raising money for maths resources and the school will also donate to Wānaka’s Food For Love and Ronald McDonald House.
“Considering we are in Covid times, ticket sales are going well,” Phillipa said.
“We are excited to still be able to run the event and it is lovely seeing shops like Mrs Robinson and Gifted come back every two years to support us.”
The event will be run with strict Covid-19 measures. All participants will need to sign in at each house, and wearing a mask and social distancing will be in place.
