Kahu Youth is planning to expand our services and open a Hawea Youth Club in 2021 and we want your feedback!

On Monday 8th March, Kahu Youth, with the wonderful assistance of Hawea Community Hall, is organising a focus group to garner a deeper understanding of the needs, wants and desires of the Hawea community. Adults and youth alike, we’re dedicated to learning what you, the community, want from us. We have - along with many members of our community - identified a need for a place where the youth of Hawea can mingle, hang out and socialise in a safe and supervised environment. The aim is to open the Hawea Youth Club in the coming months and we invite all to join in on discussing how the Youth Club will be run. We are also developing activity ideas which we are keen to develop further with your assistance.

The focus group will be running from 6pm - 8pm with snacks and refreshments provided. As we are a Youth Club, we are actively encouraging parents to bring their young ones as Richard Elvey, the manager of Kahu Youth, will be running a brainstorming session with the youth to evaluate their needs and desires too. It is also a fantastic opportunity to meet the staff at Kahu Youth who will be organising and running the Hawea Youth Club, including Cam who will be our resident Youth Worker in Hawea.
