A new campaign aims to encourage the local community, as well as regional visitors, to support local, try something new, and experience the best Wanaka has to offer.
Lake Wānaka Tourism’s (LWT) ‘Have You Ever?’ promotion, which launched this week, is the most recent in a series of campaigns aimed at giving local businesses a boost post Covid-19 restrictions.
‘Have You Ever’ aims to prompt locals and visitors to think about activities, stays, dining and other experiences that they’ve yet to tick off their bucket lists, and inspire them to try something they’ve never done before in Wanaka.
Combined with social media promotion, LWT has partnered with several Wanaka businesses and building owners to install street posters.
The posters are due to be installed before the end of the week at Helwick and Warren Street locations, as well as in the new precinct.
LWT general manager Tim Barke said the benefits of the campaign are two-fold: raising the profile and awareness of all the incredible experiences on offer, as well as providing a platform to showcase some stunning imagery.
“This is the year to start ticking off some of those experiences you’ve always dreamt about doing, to support local, and get out and enjoy this beautiful place we get to call home,” he said.
Businesses and building owners are advised to contact LWT should they wish to support local, join the campaign and volunteer wall space for additional poster installations.
Other campaigns by LWT include the ‘Love Wanaka, Supporting Local’, which was first launched in May last year following the Covid-19 lockdown.
It is still active on the LWT website, offering discounts and special offers for local activities and purchases.
The new ‘Have You Ever?’ campaign will run until the end of April.
