Integrity Homes Challenge Wanaka has revealed a new course and event venue for its upcoming February 2021 event.
The three-day festival will now be hosted at Bike Glendhu and Glendhu Station in Wanaka.
“This exciting change will not only give competitors a refreshed course, but will give these companies the ability to support each other and their local community,” organisers said in a statement.
The triathlon festival will utilise Glendhu Bay for the swim leg, and the road from Glendhu Bay to the bottom of Treble Cone Ski Area will be lapped to make for a safe and secure road ride without the dangers of traffic. Lastly, Bike Glendhu Bike Park will host the run through its scenic tracks.
The expo will be situated in a natural amphitheatre at the Bike Glendhu entrance and the Glendhu Station Woolshed will be used for registration and athlete functions.
“We are thrilled to announce we are moving to Bike Glendhu at Glendhu Station and can support such an innovative company and bring our teams together to produce an epic event for Wanaka and New Zealand,” Challenge Wanaka race director Bill Roxburgh said.
Challenge Wanaka is also hosting the South Island Championship races for both the Middle Distance and Aquabike event as part of the new Triathlon New Zealand Suzuki National Series in 2021.

Bill said the Challenge Wanaka team is focused on delivering a world-class event for all participants of the event, from juniors through to the top New Zealand triathletes.
The Integrity Homes Challenge Wanaka team also has the Challenge Wanaka Multi race still to come on October 31, 2020. The race will hold the prestige of being the 2020 New Zealand Multisport Nationals. There is still time to enter this new addition of the Challenge Wanaka event family, Bill said.
