Funding boosts for new Snow Farm hut, local festivalsThe Snow Farm received more than $160k towards a new hut.

The Snow Farm has received support of $160,770 from Central Lakes Trust (CLT) towards the cost of a 32-bunk hut for schools and community groups to use.

Thirty-three schools within the Southern region use the Snow Farm each year, which is subsidised by the Nordic ski area.

The planned school hut, to be called the Musterers’ Hut, will provide a better facility for the schools and other skiers. It will include a lecture space, two kitchens, a utility shed and a toilet block.

CLT was pleased to support the Snow Farm, which it said had outgrown its existing three small huts. Plans for the new hut were revealed last month.
