Finn Bilous charges into finals with fourth at Kicking HorseFinn Bilous during inspection at the Kicking Horse stop of the Freeride World Tour.

Wānaka freeski Olympian Finn Bilous has claimed a career best result on the Freeride World Tour with a fourth placing at Kicking Horse Resort (Canada), gaining enough points in the rankings to make it through the cut to qualify for the final two events on the tour.

This is Finn's first year on the freeride tour and he is making waves as he brings his technical tricks to the huge, exposed faces of the Freeride World Tour.

“It’s great to be here in Kicking Horse, it's such a nice morning and a beautiful sunrise on the walk up,” Finn said.

“I managed to put one down and get a decent score, so I am stoked.”

After challenging snow conditions at the first two stops of the tour, the athletes were greeted with blower powder and cold temperatures at Kicking Horse.

Finn dropped in and charged down the face, taking a direct fall line through a very technical section of the face, and in trademark style he stomped a giant 360 at the bottom.

The stop in Kicking Horse was the final opportunity for athletes to gain enough points in the rankings to make it through the cut to qualify for the final two events on the tour.

Craig Murray, Jamesa Hampton, Manu Barnard and current Freeride World Champion Jess Hotter failed to make the cut and are relying on wildcard offers from the Freeride World Tour to compete at the next stop in Fieberbrunn, Austria.
