It’s not too late to book your tickets for two sporty film events in Wanaka - the Big Bike Film Night and Ledlenser Trails in Motion Film Tour - taking place in Wanaka on Thursday and Friday night (August 6 and 7) respectively.

Big Bike Film Night screenings showcase the best cycling short films from around the world, with showings all over the country to bring the experience to as many audiences as possible. 

“[The Big Bike Film Night has] everything a cycling-centric audience could want - action, drama, humour, and plenty of inspiration; the evening is going to be unashamedly and utterly designed and devised for the two wheel devotee,” organisers said in a statement.

The event will run for just over two hours (starting at 6pm), with a hand-picked selection of the best short cycling films around. Watch the promotional video here to see what it’s all about.

This year’s treasure chest of films includes a story that reminds you that with a bike you can find a worthy adventure in your own backyard; a movie that shows inspiration can come in all shapes and sizes – sometimes that shape and size is a seven-year-old girl who likes to ride BMX; an audacious mountain climbing challenge; a tale of trees, traps and trails, two friends on an environmental mission; and much more.

Join like-minded trail runners and adventure sports enthusiasts at the Wanaka event, which will mark the Ledlenser’s New Zealand premiere.

The Big Bike Film Night will take place at the Wanaka Community Hub’s auditorium tomorrow (Thursday August 6) starting at 7pm. Tickets are available at the event website here or via cash door sales (subject to availability).
