Police have confirmed that two people died following a crash on State Highway 8 between Cromwell and Clyde yesterday evening (Wednesday February 12).

The two-vehicle crash, involving a vehicle and a motorbike, was reported to emergency services at 5pm.

Both the motorbike rider and the sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene and has since reopened.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
