Central Otago Health Services says it is “working towards bringing services back to as near normal as possible” at Dunstan Hospital under alert level two.
“As our patients are our most vulnerable people we ask you [to] have patience with staff who are committed to keeping your whanau and their patients safe,” Central Otago Health Services chief executive officer Kathryn de Luc said.
Visitors to the hospital are asked to note the changes required for safe operation at alert level two, which include mandatory mask wearing within the hospital and indoor spaces, and maintaining a two-metre distance from other people wherever possible.
The hospital has requested that each patient at the hospital has just one support person visiting at any given time, where possible, in order to help maintain the physical distancing requirements.
Visitors to the Vincent Ward are restricted to one visitor per patient at a time.
“We all thank you for your continued understanding and support,” Kathryn said.
Kathyrn said people should continue to seek updates to alert level requirements from the Covid-19 website and contact Healthline 0800 358 5453 for medical advice.
