29/9 - UPDATE: This event will now be held on Saturday 10 October due to weather conditions this week.
Bike Glendhu is looking for riders wanting to take part in the inaugural Duel Slalom (on Saturday October 10) for the opening of the Toogood Trails dual slalom course.
Over the past month or so the team from Elevate Trails has been carving lines to create the new course. Now that it’s ready to go, Bike Glendhu is holding the Duel Slalom event to celebrate.
“It will be an afternoon of dual slalom racing, food, drinks and banter to celebrate the opening of our new … course,” Bike Glendhu said in a statement.
Mons Royale will be providing the chill zone, B.Effect on the bar, Velo the food and Ed Leigh will be “running his mouth” off on the mic, they said.
There will be lots of spot prizes up for grabs and a ‘bunny hop’ competition will be organised by Ride Concepts.
“Racing is free and open to everyone over six years old, but spaces are limited and the entries are filling up,” Bike Glendhu said.

The three race categories are Open (19 and over; men, women and adaptive) Youth (13-18; men and women) and Kids (6-12; boys and girls).
For anyone who would like to watch the race, there will be foot traffic from the culvert up the 4WD track, and $5 van shuttles running from the culvert, with all proceeds going towards planting more native trees.
Bike Glendhu, which opened in January, features 35km of pedal-powered trails which twist and turn through 1,000 hectares of terrain on Glendhu Station.
