Hello all, that time again for a summary of what keeps us employed around here.
Monday saw a crash occur on Lakeside Road where a ute was hit. There was damage all down the right side of the cab. This happened just after 8am. If you saw anything give us a bell.
A family harm incident was attended to as well as a driving complaint in Cardrona Valley, and a suspicious character knocking on a residential address asking for accommodation, and a burglary was attended where hunting items were stolen. Please lock your doors.
On Tuesday there was a fracas in the afternoon involving a minor assault, several cars, and young people. All are known and are being dealt with accordingly.
A neighbourly dispute on Wednesday required our attention. Hopefully all will be calm in the future.
Also on Wednesday a family harm incident was attended.
Thursday was a night for intoxicated shenanigans. Some patrons from a local watering hole had far exceeded their limit of fermented grains. The most inebriated of them couldn’t even provide their address.
Liquor ban breaches on Ardmore Street were identified – remember no booze in public in the CBD and lakefront after 8pm. A suspended driver also drove contrary to their license suspension. A quick and effortless way to have your vehicle impounded.
Friday saw the Riverbank Road / Ballantyne Road intersection monitored. A huge volume of traffic through there in the afternoon till 6pm so plenty of opportunity for crashes. Ten of the worst transgressors treated it like a give way intersection and are hopefully now financially incentivised to stop in the future so they keep others safe.
The evening saw two drink drivers removed from the road and a vehicle who failed to stop for police. We know what the vehicle is so will be taking it away in the near future hopefully.
An individual was arrested for treating Ardmore Street like a public restroom. A sad way for a local to treat their town.
Saturday had two driving complaints dealt with and a drink driver given a court date for their inability to walk home after one too many. The evening had another drink driver, a stolen scooter, and a grocery theft reported.
Plenty of drunken revellers in town who must not have gotten the memo to wear clothes when out in public. More liquor ban breaches as well as a family harm incident and an individual in some mental distress.
The week was finished off with a report of a racist flag being flown on a property. It was not racist and was in fact the Klingon flag of the Star Trek Universe. A sure way to attract attention from the United Federation of Planets.
The evening was subdued with several drivers stopped and spoken to about their manner of driving and choice of parking in town.
Enjoy the week everyone. Take time to enjoy the change of season.
