Central Otago Health Services/Dunstan Hospital in Clyde is continuing to offer all clinical services as normal during alert level two, and chief executive Kathryn de Luc said it is important people do not delay seeking medical advice if they need it.
“At this stage there is no evidence of any COVID-19 in the Southern region, nonetheless we must remain vigilant,” Kathryn said.
“We ask that our community follows the Ministry of Health advice – if you have symptoms please get tested. There is no charge for the test.”
As part of alert level two standard procedures, Central Otago Health Services has implemented the following precautions.
Screening of all visitors has been reintroduced at the main entrance door for any possible COVID related symptoms. If you are attending the hospital for an appointment, please allow some extra time to complete the screening, Kathryn said.
The NZ COVID Tracer QR code is prominently displayed on posters at the main entrance of Dunstan Hospital and people are urged to use the tracer app.
Vincent Ward visiting hours remain between 2:00-6:00pm. However, while there are currently no visitor restrictions, people are encouraged to restrict visitors to family/whanau members if possible.
For people attending outpatient appointments including radiology and the laboratory, social distancing requirements have been reintroduced, which limits the number of people to use the waiting areas.
“If possible, please come alone unless you specifically require a support person to assist you. If someone attends with you when you do not require a support person, they may be asked to wait in the car in the carpark,” Kathryn said.
Kathyrn said people should continue to seek updates from the Covid website and contact Healthline 0800 358 5453.
