Covid-19: 68 new cases in Queenstown LakesThere are 68 new Covid-19 cases in Queenstown Lakes.

There are 68 new cases of Covid-19 in Queenstown Lakes today (Friday June 3), bringing the active total to 545.

 

The Southern District Health Board (SDHB) said that across the Southern District there are 467 new cases and an active total of 3,397.



They include 22 new cases in Central Otago; 25 in Clutha; 182 in Dunedin; 17 in Gore; 63 in Invercargill; 38 in Southland; and 52 in Waitaki.

 

There are 33 people hospitalised with Covid-19 in the district: 25 in Dunedin; six in Southland; and two in Oamaru/Waitaki. 



One person with Covid-19 is in Dunedin ICU.

 

Covid-19 exposure events have occurred at Dunedin Hospital and, as a result, the hospital is closed to visitors, except on compassionate grounds.



“All necessary steps are being taken to ensure the exposure events are contained. This includes closely monitoring patient for signs and symptoms of Covid-19 and testing all patients who have been identified as being exposed to Covid-19,” Dunedin Hospital COO Hamish Brown said.
