There are another 247 new cases of Covid-19 in Queenstown Lakes, bringing the total number of active cases to 1,921.
The Southern District Health Board (SDHB), which supplies the Covid-19 figures, does not provide a breakdown of cases within Queenstown Lakes, so the Wānaka App cannot provide Wānaka-specific figures.
Across the Southern District, there are 1,203 new cases, and there have been 16,790 cases across the district in the past 90 days.
There are 50 new cases in Central Otago; 90 in Clutha; 389 in Dunedin; 55 in Gore; 205 in Invercargill; 65 in Southland; and 100 in Waitaki.
The SDHB said people who have not yet had their boosters should get them now, because it takes about two weeks after vaccination for the body to build full protection against Covid-19.
“Make sure you and your family have a plan to self-isolate or care for vulnerable family members in case this is needed. Start to have these conversations now – before you need to have them,” the SDHB said.
