Covid-19: 110 new cases in Queenstown LakesThere are 5,160 active cases across the Southern District and 751 in Queenstown Lakes, including 110 new cases.

There are 110 new cases of Covid-19 in Queenstown Lakes according to the latest figures from Te Whatu Ora Southern (formerly the Southern District Health Board).


This brings the total number of active cases in Queenstown Lakes up to 751. 



Across the Southern District there are 5,610 cases and 770 new cases. 


Across the district there are 50 people hospitalised with Covid-19.


Te Whatu Ora Southern says it is important to prepare and be ready in case you have to isolate at home. 


“Unless you are very sick, you will need to self-manage your isolation as much as possible,” public health physician Dr Virginia McLaughlin said. 



“This could mean ordering groceries or food online, asking friends and whānau to drop off any medication you may need on the doorstep, and generally looking after yourself like you would if you had the flu or a cold - all while staying at home and isolating until your household has recovered from Covid-19.”

There are 72 new cases in Central Otago, and an active total of 435; 26 new cases in Clutha, and an active total of 216; 345 new cases in Dunedin, and an active total of 2,666; and 14 new cases in Gore, and an active total of 101.


There are also 129 new cases in Invercargill, and an active total of 745; 41 new cases in Southland, and an active total of 354; and 33 new cases in Waitaki, and an active total of 339.
